A Look Back at Team Iodisc's First Tournament: A Historic Victory at FrisbeeFest 2025!

Last weekend marked a milestone in the history of Team IODISC: our very first participation in an official tournament—and not just any tournament—FrisbeeFest 2025 in Shawinigan. Battling through the rain with unwavering determination, our mixed team, TEAM IODISC, rose to the challenge, claiming the final victory and marking the start of an exciting journey ahead.

Building Our Identity in the Rain

From the outset, we had a clear goal: play with a strong identity. Armed with our brand-new IODisc gear and a rock-solid team spirit, we kicked off the tournament with two dominant wins:

13-02 against Kepler-132
13-01 against Euphoria

Saturday’s action wrapped up with a thrilling match against Flammes en Rose, a tough opponent, but we kept our composure and secured a 10-08 victory. We finished the day as pool leaders, our confidence soaring for the next challenges.

Sunday: On to the Finals

Sunday was all about playoffs! In the semifinals, we faced Mana and delivered a solid performance to win 12-05. Next stop: the grand final, where we once again faced Flammes en Rose.

The match was tight, intense, and exhilarating—a true battle between passionate teams. After a back-and-forth exchange of points, we clinched the win 10-09 in universe point—a nail-biting finish worthy of the greatest moments in ultimate frisbee!

A Promising First Chapter

This victory at FrisbeeFest 2025 is more than just a title: it’s the start of a collective adventure, a declaration of our values, our passion, and our commitment to spreading the spirit of frisbee across Quebec.
